The Grand Foyer of the Palais Garnier is the height of opulance and grandeur. The golden glow from the chandeliers helps to create an atmosphere of decadence from yesteryear. The foyer was designed as a drawing room for Paris society and is 54 metres long, 18 metres high and 13 metres wide. Its ceiling has a beautiful fresco representing important moments in the history of music. Some claim that the foyer is even more opulent than Versaille's famous Hall of Mirrors.
